Having achieved my original objective of completing the full Ironman triathlon, and eight months later, completing the ULTRAMAN, I have learned that I need big goals to keep me from slipping into complacency. It's just how I am wired.
Therefore, I am focusing on much longer events, such as Marathon des Sables (see below post) and ULTRAMAN. I will also be seeking some 50 - 100 mile trail running events and possibly even some extreme cycling events such as Furnace Creek 508.
Training and planning for these longer events will require far more focus and time than in the past. Regrettably, I simply cannot commit the time required to constantly update this blog. However, for those of you who have similar aspirations, please take your time to review the previous posts for a detailed review of what was required to achieve my Ironman dream.
Now the good news. Sort of.
I will be micro blogging, and doing so quite regularly, on Twitter. My user name is "johncallos" and you also may find me by searching for Iron Ambition.
I intend to be recording daily workouts and other "lessons learned" including tips and product reviews.
Finally, as I returned to health and vitality during this pursuit, my interests have expanded to new areas such as diet, nutrition, raw food diets, vegan diets, vegetarian diets, live foods and other areas. I will be micro blogging about these areas as well.
